BEFORE THE STORM
Live rain and storm radar for Miller Grove and the counties around it, updated roughly every ten minutes. Drag it, pinch or scroll to zoom, and scrub back through the last couple of hours.
If a storm has already been through, you do not have to guess what it did to the roof. A free inspection gets you photographs of whatever is up there, and a written report you can keep whether or not you ever file a claim.

The whole covering renewed to specification, with intake and exhaust ventilation corrected while the roof is open rather than left for somebody else later.
Flashing failures, cracked vent boots and storm-lifted courses put right before the decking underneath takes damage and the price changes completely.
Photographed evidence gathered while the damage is fresh, which is what a claim actually turns on.
Long-life metal systems, from concealed-seam residential roofs through to exposed-fastener agricultural panel, plus the fastener work that keeps the latter going.
Formed in one continuous run so the only joints anywhere are at the corners and the outlets, which is where sectional guttering starts leaking first.
Free, thorough and written down, including the times the honest answer is that the roof has years left and nothing needs doing this season.
A roofing contractor in Miller Grove is working across a scattered farming community where houses, school buildings and working sheds all sit in the same open country. Three things cause nearly all the damage.
Cells cross this part of the county in narrow bands, so one road can be hit hard and the next left alone. Hail bruises the mat without opening a hole, which is exactly why so much of it goes unnoticed for years.
A gust that has crossed open ground arrives with nothing taken out of it. Seal strips give way at the rakes and the ridge, and the shingle looks perfectly normal from the road afterwards.
Where oaks sit close to a house the damage is slower but real: limbs taking granules off in every blow, and leaf litter holding damp in the valleys between rains.

“Within just one hour of my request, they had a drone in the air and a full estimate with photos in my inbox. The pricing was very reasonable, the work was finished exactly on time and to a high standard.”
That is the point of using somebody nearby. They get on the roof, photograph what is actually there, and put it in writing before you have to decide anything.
In a community built around its school and a handful of roads, a contractor’s reputation travels faster than any advertising could. That is a good discipline to work under and we would rather have it than not.
We are based on Como St S in Sulphur Springs, about twenty minutes away. The crew that turns up is our own, and the company you ring about a warranty question in year four is the company that put the roof on. That continuity is most of what the warranty is worth.
Where a repair is the honest answer we give it. Around here that is common, because the houses are generally sound and what has actually failed is one detail: a vent boot gone hard, a run of ridge cap, step flashing at a wall.
Being a roofing contractor in Miller Grove that is genuinely close by also changes the timeline. An inspection is days rather than weeks, and a call with water coming in gets seen the same morning instead of being fitted in later.
It helps that we know what is up there already. Properties along the same road usually share an age and a set of details, so the same things fail in the same order, and a leak call on a familiar road starts with a sensible idea of where to look.

An inspection from a ladder at the edge is a guess. Ours takes about an hour and covers every plane.
The images and the written findings are yours regardless of what you decide or who does the work.
The estimate names the work and the materials, with decking priced per sheet, so you know exactly what you are getting.

There is no single best roof for this part of Texas. A house near the school wants something different from a hay barn out on the section line, and with this much open ground the way a system handles wind carries weight. We fit all four of these systems.

Architectural shingle is what most of these roofs already are, and what most of them go back to. The things that decide how long it lasts are the underlayment beneath it and whether the attic can breathe, neither of which is visible afterwards.

Concealed fasteners, nothing to back out, and a service life that often outlasts the owner. On open ground it is also the system that handles wind best, because there are no fastener heads for uplift to catch. Hail damage on it is usually cosmetic rather than a leak path, because nothing penetrates the weather surface.

What almost every working building around Miller Grove is already wearing. Inexpensive per square foot, quick to install, and entirely adequate, provided somebody goes over the fixings once in a while.

Low-slope work is a different trade from shingle. The covering is the easy part; the parapets, terminations and drainage are where these roofs are actually won or lost.
Most of these can be checked from the ground in ten minutes, and none of them get less expensive by waiting. If two or three sound familiar, book the inspection. Free genuinely means free, including the times we tell you nothing needs doing this year.

A handful of grit at the bottom of a downspout is the shingle shedding its protective layer. New roofs shed a little; one that fills the gutter every season is past halfway through its life.
Once the seal strip lets go the shingle is a flap rather than a waterproof surface. It is the most common wind damage there is and the hardest thing to see from the ground.
Vents, gutters, downspouts and flashing bruise before shingles show anything. If the metal is dimpled, the field almost certainly took the same hit.
Water runs along the deck before it drops, so the wet patch is rarely under the hole. A stain means it has been getting in for a while.
Stand in the attic mid-afternoon with the lights off. Pinpricks of light mean gaps, and gaps mean water and wildlife.
Poor intake or exhaust cooks shingles from underneath and takes years off them. One of the simplest things to put right and the most often ignored.
On exposed-fastener panel the washers are the consumable. When heads back out, each one is a small hole waiting for the next wet spell.
A dip in the roof line usually means the decking has been wet long enough to lose strength. That is structural, not a shingle problem.
Hail bruising fractures the mat underneath the granules and the roof carries on shedding water exactly as before. Two seasons later, proving the storm did it becomes very difficult, which is why photographs taken while the damage is fresh matter more than almost anything else.
Our role here is deliberately limited. We are roofers, not adjusters: we inspect free, photograph the roof systematically, and write up contractor-observed damage as factual scope information. Whether any of it is covered, and for how much, is your insurer’s decision against your policy.
The deductible stays with you. Texas law does not permit a contractor to waive, absorb or rebate any part of it, so it belongs in your budget from the start. Storm dates for this part of the state are published by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, and an established date makes a claim far easier to discuss.
Fresh damage photographs well and is unambiguous. Two seasons on, establishing what a storm did becomes genuinely difficult.
Where the work is smaller than the deductible, or the damage is wear rather than storm, we would rather tell you than file anyway.

The National Weather Service has logged 30 severe weather reports in Hopkins County since 2022. These six are the ones nearest Miller Grove. They are worth knowing because an insurance claim runs from the date the damage happened, not the date a ceiling stains, and that date is often months earlier than people think.
For a full asphalt shingle replacement on an average single-story home, a roofing contractor in Miller Grove typically charges about $6,000 to $14,000, including tear-off and disposal. Metal runs about $12,000 to $30,000 or more, and Class 4 impact-resistant shingles usually fall between $10,000 and $17,000. These are typical Northeast Texas ranges, not a quote: the price for your roof is set after a free on-site inspection and a written estimate. Prices by home size and material are set out in our roof replacement cost guide.
No roofing contractor in Miller Grove can price a roof properly from a phone call. These six things are what actually change the number, and knowing them makes an estimate readable rather than mysterious.
Price starts from area and climbs with pitch. A roof steep enough to need fall protection and staging is a slower job at every single stage of the work.
Disposal is charged by weight, so two layers is roughly double the tear-off labor and roughly double the tonnage that has to leave the site afterwards.
It can only be assessed once the covering is off, so it is quoted per sheet in advance and photographed before anything at all is replaced.
Each stack, skylight and valley is a detail that has to be formed properly by hand. Detail work is hours rather than materials, and hours are what a roof costs.
An impact-rated covering or a metal system costs more up front and lasts considerably longer. Both are perfectly legitimate choices on the right building.
Narrow drives, soft ground and long carries all add real time, and on a rural property that is frequently the single biggest variable in the whole price.
Nobody can price a roof properly from the driveway. Book the free inspection and you get photographs of what is actually wrong plus a written estimate you can keep and compare.
Most single-family replacements around Miller Grove are a one-day job. The crew arrives early, protects the ground and the landscaping, and works through in order. It is noisy while it happens and over faster than most people brace for.
Worth doing beforehand: move vehicles off the drive, take fragile pictures off the walls, and plan any calls for somewhere other than directly under the roof deck. Pets are usually happier elsewhere for the day.
Where a property sits well back from the road we agree where the truck and the dumpster will go before the morning rather than working it out on the day. On soft ground that is the difference between a tidy job and ruts across a yard.
What can extend a job is whatever turns up once the old covering is off. Decking is the one part nobody can assess in advance, so the estimate carries a per-sheet rate and we photograph anything we replace. You will know the number before we carry on rather than after.

Ground protection goes down first, then a controlled strip so that nothing comes off the roof faster than it can be cleared away below.
Decking checked sheet by sheet and replaced wherever it is needed, then the whole roof dried in before the working day ends.
Every layer fitted to the manufacturer’s written instructions, because that is precisely what the material warranty depends on holding up later.
Magnets over the whole property, all debris away, photographs of each stage handed over, and the workmanship warranty issued in writing.
Alongside the houses, this part of the county runs on working buildings: hay barns, equipment sheds, shops behind houses, and the community and school buildings that everything else is arranged around.
On the metal buildings the usual job is not a new roof at all. It is comprehensive fastener replacement, because the panel and its coating routinely outlive the rubber washers under thousands of screws. Where the panel is sound that buys another decade for a fraction of a re-roof.
Community buildings are their own case. They tend to have long unbroken runs, a low-slope section over an addition somewhere, and a budget that has to be agreed by more than one person. We are used to quoting those in stages so the urgent part can be done now and the rest later.
On agricultural buildings the consequence of a leak is what is stored underneath rather than a stained ceiling, so those calls get treated as urgent. The survey looks at closures, laps and drainage as much as at the panel itself.

Yes, regularly. We are the roofing contractor in Miller Grove for houses and outbuildings across this community, and it is about twenty minutes from our shop in Sulphur Springs. Inspections are usually within a few days.
The 25% rule comes from Florida’s building code, where repairing or replacing more than 25% of a roof within 12 months can require the whole roof to be brought up to current code. Texas has no statewide version of it. Here, whether a roof is repaired or replaced comes down to its condition, any permit rules in your city or county, and, on a storm claim, what your insurance company decides under your policy.
Most homes here are a one-day job, start to walkthrough. A larger roof, or one that turns out to need significant decking work, can run into a second day. We tell you which we expect before starting.
Yes, and usually in stages so a committee can approve the urgent section now and the rest in a later budget. Everything is photographed so the order we recommend can be seen rather than taken on trust.
That is your carrier’s decision against your policy. We inspect for free, photograph what is there, and write it up factually so the claim is decided on evidence. We never predict an approval.
